Announcing the Stripcastle Scholarship Winner

I am so happy to announce our Stripcastle Scholarship winner, Victoria LeBrun!

I must admit, when my judges shared their results with me for final approval, I squealed with joy to see that Victoria had won. I have had the pleasure of spending time with Ms. Victoria not once, but twice: firstly in my Stripcraft workshop at Dollhouse Fitness in Encinitas, California, and then once again when we worked a gig together last summer in Cali called Sinners Welcome, produced by two great talents and good friends of mine, Traci Hauptman and Suwasit Ritthiphon.

Both of the times I have the pleasure of hanging out with Victoria, I was totally enamoured with her dope style, chill energy, and wisdom. Listen–this woman is wise beyond her years! At only 20 years old, she is more critically-minded, socially-aware, and driven than most folks I know.

Victoria writes,

“As a black woman growing up in America I was taught to hate myself, and for the majority of my life thus far, I have. As a young child I would have crying fits triggered simply by looking in the mirror and hating what I saw. Besides hating what I saw, I was taught that everything inside was undesirable as well. I lost my virginity at age 13, which made me a slut. I remember hating any girl that was prettier than me because they stole the attention that I so badly needed to feel pretty. The pole community showed me a new side of female relationships, and more importantly a new side of myself. My sensuality was not some demonic spirit that needed to be prayed away, but a beautiful and defining part of my soul. For the first time in my life I was able to be proud of every part of myself right down to the dirty core. Once I was able to love myself, I couldn’t hate a fellow sister.”

Watch out for this young woman–she’s exactly the badass I want to see rise to power and fulfill her vast excellency. Ah, to be 20 again, and this full of promise! You da bomb, Victoria.

And did I mention that Victoria is an incredible dancer–sexy as hell, with hair whips that will make you WISH YOU HAD THAT FUCKING HEAD OF HAIR?

Victoria, it is my honor to provide you with this scholarship. I hope you love Scotland as much as I do, and I can’t wait to spend time with you again.

OH NO! Are you one of the 243 other applicants who are really happy for Victoria but simultaneously bummed you didn’t win this scholarship? Hey, I feel you–I’ve lost a lot of scholarships in my day! However, I hope to provide more opportunities like this in the future. The higher I climb, the higher I want to bring y’all with me. I’ve got plenty of gifts to come.

ALSO! To the scholarship applicants who said “yes, I’d like to be considered for one of the remaining 3 paying spots at Stripcastle,” I will be personally reviewing your applications and getting in touch with you within the next few days. The three remaining spots are for session one, June 15 – 19.

Congrats again to Victoria, and I look forward to seeing three more of y’all at Stripcastle, session one!
