You’ve heard me talk about it. You know I’ve been planning. And now–we’re ready to rock.
Introducing ScriptCraft, my first ever writing retreat!

Applications will be approved on a rolling basis, and enrollment will come first-come, first-served to approved applicants.
Do you ever wish you could share your stories with people who would listen–really listen?
Maybe you’re a writer and you’re feeling lonely, unsupported in your work.
Maybe you’re “not a writer” but you’ve got a story to tell–if only you had the skills….
if only someone were interested….
Join me and fourteen other friends as we spend three nights and days writing, reading, and dreaming in the picturesque North Carolina mountains at…
May 13- 16, 2019
When’s the last time you put down the phone? When’s the last time you’ve spent the day composing brilliance and then sharing it with your friends around the fire after supper? When’s the last time you’ve laughed at yourself, learned to not take yourself so seriously, learned to try again? When’s the last time you even considered making art? When’s the last time you thought you had a story worth telling, wisdom worth sharing? Has it been too long?
Let’s fix that.
Drive through the clouds along the famous scenic Cherohala Skyway to reach a historic and secluded mountain lodge nestled in the green hills and mountains of North Carolina to arrive at ScriptCraft, where the stress and unending chatter of your busy life fall away as you are surrounded by ancient trees, the peaceful sounds of nature, panoramic mountain views, and your unleashed imagination. The rocking chairs on the terrace are calling your name, so why not grab a hot cup of tea–or a cocktail at the lodge’s fireside bar–and take a deep breath. You’re here. You’ve made it. No television. No cell phones. Just you–and a handful of new friends–disconnected from the noise and reconnected to the voice within.
For the first time ever, this retreat is open to all genders.
For the first time ever, every attendee has their own room with their own ensuite bathroom. Talk about space and privacy, y’all.
A typical day at ScriptCraft…
Wake up slowly and enjoy a cup of coffee as you gaze out upon the mountains from the lodge’s wrap-around terrace. Join your fellow writers for a fresh-cooked hot breakfast, before we convene in the screened-in porch for the morning’s creative writing lesson–and maybe a challenge or two! As the discussion winds down, retreat to a private area—perhaps your cozy room, or maybe a porch swing—and relax into your day of writing, using prompts from the morning’s lesson–and the input of your fellow writers–to explore your story in new ways. Take your tasty picnic lunch at your leisure—the lodge staff will have it all packed up for you whenever your stomach starts growling. Ready for a post-lunch nap? Or maybe you want to meet up with fellow retreat guests and enjoy the vistas on a winding mountain drive? Or maybe you want to dive right back into writing—the choice is yours. We’ll reconvene in the evening to break bread over a four-course gourmet dinner…and perhaps share a bottle of wine and a chat in the porch swing. Finally, we’ll gather around the fire pit in the screened-in summer house—or perhaps the library—to share our day’s work with collaborative, encouraging, inspiring new friends.
I’m so excited about this one!
See you in the Carolinas!
